N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine is an amphoteric surfactant derived from N-dodecyl-N,N-dialkanolamine with protein denaturing potency. It is a clear or light yellow transparent liquid, its relative density is (20 ℃) 1.03. It is cationic in acidic medium and anionic in alkaline medium. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine is soluble in water. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine has excellent stability under both acidic and alkaline conditions. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine has good compatibility with various types of dyes, surfactants and cosmetic raw materials. It is stable to sodium hypochlorite, but it is not suitable to heat it above 100℃ for a long time.
N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine has the characteristics of more foam, strong detergency, and it has valuable thickening properties. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine has low skin irritation and good biodegradability. It has excellent decontamination and sterilization, softness, antistatic, hard water resistance and rust resistance. 1. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine is usually used as a surface agent, or surfactant. It is compound which is used in many personal body care products as they lower the surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid, allowing you to wash away dirt, makeup, pollution, skin oils and fats from your skin. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine is often used as a surfactant in organic and natural cosmetics such as shampoo, shower gel and skin cleansers as it’s considered more natural and gentle than some other surfactants.
2. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine helps separate grease from water, making it useful in shampoos and soaps. At the same time, N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine has excellent foaming properties and can make hair soft, so it is suitable for making non-irritating, hair-conditioning shampoo.
3. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine has good hard water resistance and is used in the manufacture of hard water resistant detergents.
4. It can also be used as a fungicide, killing a variety of bacteria including tuberculosis.
5. N-Dodecyl-N,N-Dimethylglycine is used as fiber softener, metal surface processing aid, antistatic agent.
