Name: N,N-dimethyldocosylamine

CAS: 21542-96-1

Feature:

N, N-dimethyldocosylamine is a tertiary amine with a linear aliphatic chain and are N, N-dimethyl substituted. In the molecule of N, N-dimethyldocosylamine, there are trivalent amines connected with three hydrocarbon groups. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine has a very wide range of uses, it can be used as a component of formulated products, and it can also be used as an intermediate product of various special chemical derivatives. It is an important raw material for the production of quaternary ammonium salts. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine is insoluble in water, and its density is lower than that of water. So it floats on the water. Contact with it may irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. It may be toxic if ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine is used in the manufacture of other chemicals.

N, N-dimethyldocosylamine can be used as the raw material of cationic surfactant. It can also be used as a raw material for amphoteric surfactants. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine can be used as corrosion inhibitor, raw material of asphalt emulsifier, rubber release agent, flotation agent, fertilizer anti-caking agent, fuel additive, sludge inhibitor, etc.

N, N-dimethyldocosylamine has the following applications/functions:

1. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine is the main raw material for the production of cationic quaternary ammonium salts, which can be reacted with benzyl chloride to produce benzyl quaternary ammonium salts. It is widely used in oil field, textile, daily chemical and other industries.

2. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine can react with quaternized raw materials such as methyl chloride, dimethyl sulfate, and diethyl sulfate to form cationic quaternary ammonium salts, which are widely used in textile, personal care, cosmetics and other industries.

3. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine can also react with sodium chloroacetate to produce betaine, an amphoteric surfactant.

4. N, N-dimethyldocosylamine reacts with hydrogen peroxide to produce amine oxide and can be used as a foaming agent.
