Name: Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide

CAS: 28061-69-0

Feature:

Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide is an amine, which is the product of one or more hydrogen atoms in the ammonia molecule being replaced by a hydrocarbon group. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide widely exists in the biological world and has extremely important physiological and biological activities. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide is also a tertiary amine having a trivalent group attached to three hydrocarbyl groups in the molecule. It’s very versatile. It can be used as a component of formulated products and as an intermediate product of various specialized chemical derivatives. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide is an important raw material for the production of quaternary ammonium salts. Its molecular formula is C20H41N and its molecular weight is 295.5462. And its relative density is 0.818g/cm3. Contact with it may irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. It may be toxic if ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide is used in the manufacture of other chemicals.

Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide has the following applications/functions:

1. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide is the main raw material for the production of cationic quaternary ammonium salt. It can produce benzyl quaternary ammonium salt by benzyl chloride reaction, which is widely used in oil fields, textiles, daily chemicals and other industries.

2. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide can react with methane chloride, dimethyl sulfate, diethyl sulfate and other quaternized raw materials to produce cationic quaternary ammonium salt, which is widely used in textile, oil field chemicals and other industries.

3. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide can also react with sodium chloroacetate to produce amphoteric surfactant betaine.

4. The reaction between Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide and hydrogen peroxide can produce amine oxide as foaming agent, which can be used as foaming agent.

5. Oleylamidopropyl Dimethylamine Oxide has fixed hydrophilic and lipophilic groups, which can be aligned on the surface of the solution. It can significantly reduce the surface tension of the target solution. It can also be used as a surfactant.
