Zeatin is an organic compound. Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and DMF . Non-toxic. It is a natural cytokinin in plants. It is the first natural cytokinin extracted and crystallized from the grains of sweet corn at the filling stage. Exogenous zeatin used in production is a biogenic plant growth regulator. Zeatin can promote plant cell division, prevent chlorophyll and protein degradation, slow down respiration, maintain cell vitality and delay plant aging. It has poor mobility in plants and is generally transported in xylem with transpiration water flow. Zeatin is a natural cytokinin. More than ten kinds of natural cytokinins have been found in many higher plants. It can promote cell division, promote lateral bud development, delay leaf senescence and preserve vegetables. The root is an important place for the synthesis of zeatin. It can also be formed in young leaves, buds, young fruits and developing seeds. Zeatin is a low toxicity plant growth regulator and belongs to cytokinins. As a plant growth regulator, it has a wide range of applications, including food crops, cotton, vegetables, melons and fruits. Its main role is to promote the formation of chlorophyll and prevent premature senescence and fruit abscission; Promote photosynthesis and protein synthesis, and promote flower bud differentiation and formation.

The formula of zeatin used in paddy field is mainly: 0.00006% zeatin + 0.00004% eneadenine. When used, use 0.006 ~ 0.01 mg/l solution or dilute it 100-150 times to soak seeds, 48h for early rice and 12 h for middle and late rice. Its main role is to promote rice germination, cultivate strong seedlings, enhance seedling resistance, can mature 3-5 days in advance, an average increase of about 10%, spraying in rice fields can be carried out in the field spray treatment, convenient for mechanized operation, can increase rice yield and improve the resistance to stress.

As one of the most widely used plant growth regulators, indoleacetic acid has better effect when combined with zeatin. Use 10-15 ml of 0.11% indole acetic acid and Zeatin solution for every 1000 kg of seeds. After dilution, spray the solution on the seeds, spray and stir while mixing. After mixing, keep the seeds stuffy for 1-2 h, dry and sow after the seeds fully absorb the solution. It can develop wheat roots, increase secondary roots, increase the number of effective tillers, and effectively reduce the occurrence of scab, powdery mildew and aphid.

Zeatin used in corn field is mainly compounded with Ethephon or indoleacetic acid. Compounded with different varieties can achieve different effects. For example, compounded with Ethephon can increase stem diameter, reduce column height, make plants short and healthy, and improve resistance; The empty plant rate decreased, the grain weight and grain number increased, and the yield increased; Promote root development and improve root activity; Increase the chlorophyll content of leaves, reduce the inclination of upper leaves, and improve the light receiving condition of lower leaves.

Zeatin is widely used in vegetables, including tomato, eggplant, pepper, cabbage and other vegetables. After treatment with zeatin, the melon setting rate of Zucchini increased, the melon strips grew fast, the fruit uniformity was high, there were few abnormal melons and the yield was high; It has obvious effect on early growth of strong tomato seedlings, can promote tomato leaves to turn green and effectively improve photosynthetic efficiency. After application, it can break the dormancy of lettuce seeds and promote germination, and the germination rate can be increased by 60%. At the same time, after harvesting, lettuce is prone to yellowing, defoliation and finally rot. the rational use of plant growth regulators can effectively reduce the loss during storage.
