Temephos is an organophosphorus larvicide

Temephos  is an organic substance, which is a white crystalline solid and highly toxic. It is an organophosphorus larvicide. It is used to treat the waters full of disease transmitting insects, including mosquitoes, midges and black fly larvae. It affects the central nervous system by inhibiting cholinesterase, resulting in the death of larvae before reaching the age stage. Temephos  is prepared by the reaction of dimethoxythiophosphoryl chloride with bis (p-hydroxyphenyl) sulfide. Temephos is mainly used to control sanitary pests such as larvae, Simulium, midges, body lice and fleas. It is also effective for agricultural pests such as rice stem borer, slime worm, leaf cicada and cotton bollworm. Preparations include emulsifiable concentrate, granules and powders. Temephos  has low toxicity, broad-spectrum insecticidal effect, and its mode of action is mainly contact killing, without endoabsorption.  Temephos  is harmful to the environment, so special attention should be paid to the pollution of water body. Temephos  can be used in public health to control larvae, chironomid, moths and midges; It can also prevent lice on human body and jumping lice on dogs and cats; It can also be used to control land tigers, thrips on citrus and bugs on pasture.

1. Application method of temephos: (1) dosage: 1 ~ 5 g per square meter of water surface. (2) Actuation duration: effective within 1 week. (3) Insecticidal method: evenly sprinkle into the water. It is suitable for killing mosquito larvae breeding in immobile water. 2. Matters needing attention: (1) wear masks and gloves when applying drugs. (2) Wash in time after application. Temephos is toxic to silkworms, fish and bees. It is forbidden to clean the applicators in ponds and other water bodies.

Temephos is used for public health, control of larvae, chironomid, etc. The use concentration is 50-100 mg / L to control jumping lice on dogs and cats, and the use concentration is 100 mg / L.

Temephos is used to control land tigers, thrips on citrus and stink bugs on forages. 5% granules of 1-1.5 kg per mu are used. Avoid contact with bees when using temephos. The action speed of temephos is fast. 24 hours after use, it can kill mosquito, Simulium and other insect larvae. Unique sand dosage form, sand sinking underwater, not affected by surface weeds, strong slow-release effect and long duration. It is safe for non target organisms and natural enemies of mosquitoes. It has a good control effect on disease vector pests such as mosquito larvae and midges larvae, so as to prevent the transmission and outbreak of insect vector diseases such as malaria and dengue fever.
