Phosphoric acid is an important raw material for the production of phosphate fertilizer.

Phosphoric acid or orthophosphoric acid, a common inorganic acid, is a medium strong acid. Not easy to volatilize, not easy to decompose, almost no oxidation. Phosphoric acid has the generality of acid and is a ternary weak acid. Its acidity is weaker than hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and nitric acid, but stronger than acetic acid and boric acid. It can be obtained by dissolving phosphorus pentoxide in hot water. Phosphoric acid deliquesces easily in air. Heating will lose water to obtain pyrophosphoric acid, and then further lose water to obtain metaphosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid is mainly used in pharmaceutical, food, fertilizer and other industries, including raw materials and components of antirust agent, food additive, dental and orthopaedic surgery, electrolyte, flux, dispersant, industrial corrosive agent, fertilizer and household cleaning products. It can also be used as a chemical reagent. Phosphate is the nutrition of all life forms. Phosphorus is an indispensable element for the formation of nuclear protein and lecithin. Phosphorus can accelerate cell division, accelerate the growth of root and shoot, promote flower bud differentiation, mature early and improve fruit quality. Phosphorus can strengthen photosynthesis and carbohydrate synthesis and transport, promote protein synthesis, facilitate the reduction and utilization of nitric acid in the body, enhance the nitrogen fixation of legumes, promote fat metabolism, and enhance the drought and cold resistance of crops. Phosphorus can increase the content of soluble sugar and phospholipids in plants, while soluble sugar can reduce the freezing point of cell protoplasm. Phosphorus fertilizer can participate in photosynthesis, respiration, energy storage, transmission, cell division, cell enlargement and other processes in plants, so as to promote plant growth. Phosphoric acid can increase the tenacity of stems and branches and improve the ability of plants to adapt to external environmental conditions. Phosphoric acid can enhance the ability of plants to resist drought, cold, lodging, disease and insect pests. The ripening promoting effect of phosphoric acid can promote plants to produce more new roots and shorten the harvest time of plants. Phosphoric acid can promote plant tillering and improve plant flowering rate and seed setting rate. Phosphoric acid is the raw material for the production of important phosphate fertilizers (calcium superphosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, etc.). It can promote more developed plant root systems, foliage plants to grow more branches, and flowering plants to develop faster flower bud differentiation.
