Maleic hydrazide——Plant growth regulator

Maleic hydrazide is a synthetic growth inhibitor, which can inhibit the division and elongation of apical meristem cells, destroy apical dominance, and can not be reversed by gibberellin. It is mainly used to prevent potato, onion, garlic and other tuber and bulb crops from sprouting during storage, inhibit the growth of tobacco axillary buds, and control the overgrowth of trees, shrubs and grasses. The pure maleic hydrazide is a white crystal with a melting point of 296 ~ 298 ℃ and a density of 1.60g/cm3 at 25 ℃. It is insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents and easily soluble in acetic acid, diethanolamine and triethanolamine. Its solubility in water and ethanol is 0.6% and 0.1% at 25 ℃. Maleic hydrazide has stable chemical properties, and the potassium, sodium, ammonium salts and organic alkali salts formed in case of alkali are easily soluble in water. Maleic hydrazide has little toxicity to humans and animals. Maleic hydrazide can be used as selective herbicide and plant growth regulator. It can inhibit plant hormones, prevent cell division and cell growth, enter plants through leaf cuticle, reduce photosynthesis, reduce osmotic pressure and evaporation, inhibit plant growth and prolong flowering period, and prevent potatoes, onions Garlic and radish germinate during storage: it can be used as a pesticide to control broad-leaved grass. It is suitable for dry land, grassland, park, courtyard and playground. It is used as a chemical pick of tobacco flowers.

Maleic hydrazide can inhibit the growth of axillary buds of tobacco plants, increase nicotine and moisture balance value, reduce ash content and filling value. It is widely used as an inhalative bud inhibitor of tobacco. The application of malephthalein can not only slow down the breeding of tobacco pests in that year, but also reduce the pest population in the next year and ensure the growth of nutrients, so as to obtain tobacco with high yield and good quality. The application of maleic hydrazide can not only slow down the breeding of tobacco pests in that year, but also reduce the pest population in the next year and ensure the growth of nutrients, so as to obtain tobacco with high yield and good quality.  Maleic hydrazide  can prevent root crops such as potatoes, carrots, radishes or sugar beets from sprouting during storage. Spraying maleic hydrazide on the leaves six weeks before the root crops mature can effectively inhibit their germination during storage and greatly prolong the shelf life. The application of maleic hydrazide in cereal crops such as wheat and corn can inhibit the growth of wild weeds, so it can be used as a chemical herbicide.
