Testosterone enanthate——Men’s “new contraceptives”

Testosterone enanthate is a male hormone drug, a compound preparation of testosterone propionate and testosterone enanthate. The effect is the same as testosterone acetone, it can promote the development of male sexual organs and side characteristics, and fight estrogen. There is also protein assimilation, which can increase muscle growth and weight gain. The effect is fast, and the duration is long. Injection of 250m testosterone enanthate can maintain the efficacy for 2 to 4 weeks. It is suitable for male sexual insufficiency, dysplasia of sexual organs, infertility, cryptorchidism and anorchidism. It can also be used for female functional uterine bleeding, menopausal syndrome, breast cancer and sexual organ cancer; liver cirrhosis, aplastic anemia, osteoporosis and other wasting diseases.

Testosterone enanthate is a hormone ester, which can inhibit the pituitary gland and promote the release of gonadal hormones, thereby reducing the endogenous testosterone secreted by the testicular stromal cells, and ultimately achieving the purpose of blocking spermatogenesis. The Institute of Animal Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted experiments on monkeys and found that when testosterone enanthate was injected once a week, the sperm cells of the monkeys began to apoptotic after one week, and the sperm cell apoptosis reached a peak in the fifth week. Clinical trials on 308 volunteers also showed that the effect of testosterone enanthate contraceptives on Asian men was significantly higher than that of whites. In this study, although the sperm reduction rate did not show a difference between races, Asians were more sensitive to hormone-induced suppression of sperm production than Caucasians.

In addition to the inhibition of testosterone enanthate causing sperm formation and sperm release barriers, the arrangement of spermatogenic cells within the outline of some seminiferous tubules has also become looser, and the spermatogenic cells appear radially fissures, and there are few shed spermatogenic cells scattered in the lumen of the seminiferous tubules. The loose arrangement of spermatogenic cells may be an important change, which can lead to the detachment or shedding of spermatogenic cells, but it does not involve individual cells, but clumps or clusters of spermatogenic cells. This prompted the author to further analyze whether the suppression of human spermatogenesis caused by testosterone enanthate is also accompanied by a loose arrangement of spermatogenic cells. After the drug is stopped, the male’s normal sperm production ability will be restored, and it will not affect the sex life.
