Name: Docosanamide

CAS: 3061-75-4

Feature:

Docosanamide, also known as behenamide, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as fatty amides. These are carboxylic acid amide derivatives of fatty acids, that are formed from a fatty acid and an amine. Thus, docosanamide is considered to be a fatty amide. Docosanamide is primary fatty acid amides, which belong to fatty acyls subclass containing a carboxamide headgroup and an acyl tail with variable carbon length and unsaturation. Docosanamide is a nonionic surfactant that is stable in acid, alkali and aqueous media. Docosanamide is a smooth, odorless, waxy solid at room temperature, and it is poorly soluble in most solvents. Docosanamide not only has good thermal stability, but also has the functions of opening, anti-sticking, mold release, lubricating, brightening, dispersing and antistatic.

Docosanamide is used as an excellent lubricant for polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene extrusion films, etc. Docosanamide is also a very important processing aid in polymer materials. In order not to affect the application performance of docosanamide, it should not be directly added and used. Docosanamide needs to be separated and purified.

Docosanamide has the following applications/functions:

1.Docosanamide is mainly used as an anti-blocking agent and anti-scratch agent for CPP, BOPP, BOPET, BOPS, BOPA, BOPO, BOPLA, BOPEN, POF and composite films.

2. Docosanamide is used as opening, anti-sticking and lubricating agent for LLDPE, LDPE, EVA, etc.

3. It is used as an auxiliary agent for foaming PE, as well as an internal and external lubricant for PVC.

4. Docosanamide can be used as bright release agent and in-mold flow promoter for engineering plastics (PA6, PA66).

5. It can also be used as a mold release agent and lubricant for thermoplastic elastomers.

6. Docosanamide is used as brightener, lubricating and dispersing agent, slippery agent and anti-scratch agent.

7. Docosanamide may be used as a reference standard for the determination of behenamides in different biological samples by liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode.
